Day 12 - 2nd July 2026

A rest day for the trip. It was a slow start to the morning with a chilled out brew in the home watching Bluey for a bit. The wind was still blowing across the village and the rest of the country.

At 12, I did set off to go to Stornoway for fuel for the return trip and to also get some last minute things. I needed to buy quite a bit of food as I was going to be away from the beaten path for a couple of days after chaning my plans.

Originally on the way back, I was staying at Bunree, then Strathclyde and finally Ravenglass. I changed all this and decided to have 2 nights at Bunree giving me a much needed day of rest and not moving and then to Green Acres before being back at home.

With some of the trips out I did in the week visiting various places, I followed a circular route clockwise around the island. This time, I decided to reverse that and drove the circular route anti-clockwise. It always amazes me how different an area looks when you approach it from a different angle.

I arrived back to the house and prepared for an early night as the following morning was going to be exceptionally early.
