Day 11 - 1st July 2026

Wednesday was going to be a bit of a driving day. We were going to be going to various different places across the island to show some of those who came up for the course what the islands are all about.

First stop though was Beckett and Sons again for a breakfast. I had the shrooms on toast which I seem to have at least once when I come and visit.

After this we picked up the people which were managed to be shoehorned into one car (so I was on my own) and off we went to Luskentyre.

The beach here is fabulous, and when we got there, busy. Normally this place is quiet but not today. The visitors went onto the beach and a couple of them had come prepared to have a swim. Off they went for a good 10 minute swim.

Seeing that we were near Tarbet, we also headed into the distillery and I managed to pick up a few bottles of gin and whisky.

The group then departed for lunch at the hotel in Tarbet and I disappeared into the van for a site down and a brew.

Once we had dropped them off at the airport we did a quick bit of shopping in Stornoway and then headed back.
