Day 16 - 6th July 2026

The final day arrived. I grabbed a shower in the mahoosive shower rooms and packed up. The rubbish was taken out and the cassette emptied. I took my time doing all this as there wasn’t a site to get to, just the van back to its home.

Taking my time doing the things needed before driving away, I eventually set off at about 9am. Once I got to the end of the road I was straight into rush hour traffic getting to the roundabout above the M6.

Turning onto the M6, the cruise control was set and I happily trundled towards home. About an hour in, my stomach rumbled and I needed to stop for food. I carried on until I got to Tebay services and treated myself to a bacon and egg butty with a latte.

I carried on after this and there was nothing untoward until the M6 / M62 junction. There seemed to be a build of traffic with lane 1 stopping completely followed by lane 2. I made the decision and turned off onto the M62 towards Manchester and arrived home about an hour later.

A great 15 days in the van.
