Day 9 - 29th June 2026

A bit of a late start at 8am for me. I headed out and made my way to the Callanish Stones. The trip was excellent as usual and I got to the stone circle to be met with about 50+ people inside the stone compound.

There is also a sign that tickets must be bought to enter the circle from the visitor centre. I didn’t leave the motorhome (as I’d seen these stones close up before), took a picture and headed off.

Driving in a loop I came across the sign for Gearrannan Blackhouse Village and made the turn. I arrived to the car park and immediately came across 3 coaches of tourists from the cruise ship in the deep water harbour in Stornoway. I parked up and had a few swigs of my brew.

The village is an amazing place and very picturesque. I had a wander for about 30 minutes and headed back out to get to Stornoway.

On arriving in Stornoway, I parked up and thought I would have a 30 minute nap. 2 hours later I woke up and had to immediately set off back to Western Isles to help with the course. I must have been tired for that to happen.

We finished the course and headed to the hotel for a meal and I had the Asian Pork Belly which was delicious. Making my apologies, I left early and headed back to the house. I was in bed 10 minutes later.
